By law, school districts must ask for voter approval when seeking to renew a levy – even if the renewal does not propose an increase. Why is this necessary, when voters already said YES?
This session, legislators are considering a bill that would allow school boards to renew an expiring referendum – for the same amount and for the same duration as the expiring levy.
