Visiting the Capitol

By September 18, 2024February 16th, 2026No Comments2 min read

At AMSD, our team advocates on behalf of our member school districts for the transformation of public education — and we know from experience that local information and perspectives help legislators understand the impact of their decisions.

Your in-person visits to the Capitol can make a difference.

Whether testifying for a hearing on a key issue or just visiting the State Capitol to advocate on behalf of your district, AMSD is available to assist superintendents, board members, district staff and parents in testifying or contacting legislators.

You can find most of your legislators’ and contact information using these links below, and reach out to them directly to meet if they are available.

Also, if you are planning a trip to the Capitol, reach out to AMSD and we can offer guidance or sometimes even coordinate with other AMSD members who may also be onhand, as well as help you refine your messaging with our research.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Scott Croonquist, Executive Director, at scroonquist@amsd.org or 612-203-5631 (cell).

AMSD

AMSD celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024. AMSD is an education organization representing 49 greater metropolitan area and regional center school districts and 6 intermediate/cooperative districts that collectively enroll more than half of all public school students in Minnesota. The mission of AMSD is to advocate for member school districts so they can lead the transformation of public education.
