Education News: May 26-June 1, 2012
This week the Obama Administration announced that an additional 8 states would be granted waivers under No Child Left Behind (NCLB). The states granted waivers are Connecticut, Delaware, Louisiana, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Rhode Island. Education Week points out that except for Connecticut and Louisiana, all of these waiver recipients were also winners of Race to the Top grants. This new round of waivers brings the total number of states granted a waiver to 19.
