Today marks the second deadline for the legislature which means that bills have to have passed out of all of the policy committees in both bodies by the end of today to remain “alive.”  While this is the legislative process for narrowing down bills that move forward, it should be noted bills may surface in the form of amendments at any time or be excused from the deadlines by the Rules Committee.  This week the Task Force on the Prevention of School Bullying met for the first time.  The Task Force is comprised of 15 members and 4 ex-officio members.  The group will examine bullying, harassment and intimidation in Minnesota; look at existing laws and regulations and advise the governor and legislature on effective policies by August 1, 2012.  Documents from the task force are available at:
