This week the U.S. Census Bureau released their Public Education Finances Report- an annual national survey on public K-12 education spending.  The Pioneer Press reported on the findings, citing that Minnesota spends $70 more per pupil than the national average.  You can access the report here: http://www.census.gov/govs/school/

 

The US Department of Education will announce today that Washington and Wisconsin have been granted No Child Left Behind (NCLB) waivers.  This now brings the total number of states receiving waivers to 26.  The NY Times discusses this latest announcement and explores whether the administration has essentially nullified NCLB.
