State Budget Update

Governor Dayton and Commissioner Cassellius convened a community discussion at St. Cloud Apollo High School this morning.  St. Cloud school board members, administrators, students and community members participated in the discussion.  The primary topic was special education funding although other issues also arose related to the state government shutdown.  I am attaching a copy of a handout used at the discussion highlighting the challenges school districts face related to the state’s failure to fund special education.  Several local legislators attended the event.  You can watch the discussion on The Uptake:
